“We feel it is important to develop a unique golf course that will have its own character different from others in the area and from others I’ve previously designed. Throughout the project, we “read” the natural features and character of each site and then determine what type of feel and personality the course should have. A well designed golf course should have holes with a variety of strengths, layouts, and strategies while allowing casual golfers to enjoy the course as well.”    Bill Boswell

“What I like best is: each project is married to the site.” - Bill Womac

At Boswell Golf Design, developing strategy for all calibers of golfers is the most important principle in our golf course design. A good golf hole will present the player with several options for playing the hole. The player must decide which route is best suited to his game. If a player correctly executes a shot that challenges a hazard, he will be rewarded with a much easier following shot. If a golf course has truly good strategy then it will most likely have the following criteria for good golf design: variety in shot values, playability, resistance to scoring, and overall memorability.

In 1993 Boswell was accepted as a member of the prestigious American Society of Golf Course Architects, ASGCA.
